REDW Adds Three in Albuquerque and One in Phoenix

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Feb. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- REDWLLC, one of the largest and most respected certified public accounting and business consulting firms in the Southwest, is pleased to announce the addition of four new team members at both its Albuquerque and Phoenix Offices. James Ortiz, Leslie Jiron and Jennifer Mandrick have joined the firm’s Tax department—James and Leslie in Albuquerque and Jennifer in Phoenix, while Elena Chavez is now an added resource for the Albuquerque-based Benefits team.

James Ortiz joined the firm’s Tax department in Albuquerque in January 2014 as a Senior Accountant. Specializing in State and Local Tax (SALT), he comes to us most recently from Gap, Inc., where he gained valuable corporate sales and use tax experience. James began his career at the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department, performing personal income tax assessment and gross receipts audits, followed by two years of public accounting SALT experience. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Phoenix.

Leslie Jiron has joined the Albuquerque Tax department as a Staff Accountant. She brings five years of diverse tax and public accounting experience, most recently from a mid-size flooring company, where she provided accounting and human resources oversight as the company’s Controller. Leslie holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of New Mexico and is currently pursuing her CPA license.

Jennifer Mandrick has joined the firm as a Staff Accountant in the Phoenix Tax department. She has three years’ experience at a leading national consulting firm, providing analytic and litigation support, as well as contract and SOX compliance, for large, publicly traded companies in the technology, banking, mineral mining and aircraft outfitting industries. A member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Jennifer holds a B.S. in Accounting with a Specialization in Internal Auditing from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Elena Chavez, RPA, GBA has joined the firm as a Client Service Representative in the Benefits department. Currently in the process of earning her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Elena has already attained the Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) and Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designations. She has also gained considerable experience in the Benefits field over the past three-and-a-half years as a legal assistant for a top Albuquerque employee benefits law firm. Elena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Psychology from the University of New Mexico.
