Helmer’s ‘Support YOUR Cause Tour 2014-2015’ will see the singer/songwriter traveling more than 25,000 miles across the US, performing his radio-friendly brand of solo-acoustic rock’n’roll music in more than 250 cities. Venues already signed up for the fundraiser include some thirty-five historic Vaudeville theaters, arenas and concert halls, campgrounds, saloons and everywhere in between.

All of this, however, is a far cry from the musician’s plight in 2008. Having shelved his musical aspirations in his mid-twenties, Helmer embarked on a successful decade-plus climb of the corporate ladder, which ultimately came crashing down after one fateful decision, causing him to lose everything from his family, business and livelihood to his self-respect. In his darkest days Helmer faced incarceration and even planned suicide, not once but twice.
Three years later he emerged from this nightmare, determined to pick up the pieces, right his wrongs and build a new life based on both his original passion of creating and performing music, and his genuine desire to help others. The next step in Helmer’s journey is to tell his story, openly sharing his catastrophic fall and documenting his triumphant comeback, with the aim of inspiring others to never give up, no matter their level of adversity. To this end, the singer/songwriter is actively seeking to partner with a filmmaker / producer to document the whole story, warts and all, and produce a motivational TV series or documentary film spanning several genres.
“Other than music, TV and film are the most powerful forms of communication we have, and my story needs to be told,” says Helmer. “I am a real-life example of how someone can overcome disastrous choices and mistakes, learn from the valuable lessons they teach and make a comeback.
“I am so excited about my upcoming tour, not only because I will be exploring every nook and cranny of the US, playing my music and entertaining people, but because I’ll also be traveling with my motorcycle and getting out to meet the people and see the places that make our country great!
“My vision of the TV show or documentary is to not only tell my story, in all its gory detail, but also to focus on my comeback and to showcase people across the country doing great things, no matter how big or small, to help their community and their fellow man. Ideally I want to combine my touring, performances and musical journey with my love for food and cooking, together with my passion for motorcycles, travel and adventure.”

“America needs more positive programming instead of all the gloom and doom we are constantly bombarded with in the media,” Helmer explains. “I want to inspire others, no matter their age, circumstances or perceived obstacles, to follow their dreams, take action and get out there and go for it! If I can do it, anyone can.”
