MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA:
Foodie Trails is proud to receive the 2014 Australian Good Food Guide Readers Choice award. Director Himanshi Munshaw Luhar says “Winning the award for reader’s choice from the Australian Good Food Guide is the perfect way to start 2014. We are so proud of all our hard work being recognized at such a high level, and so thankful of all the support we have received from all the guests on our tours and classes. We look forward to carry on building on our experiences and showcasing Melbourne cultural hotspots. ”

Foodie Trails has been offering Melbourne foodies and visitors some of the most unique and delicious food experiences. Established in 2009 under the banner of Masala Trails, offering the experience of an Indian cultural and food tour of Melbourne, Foodie Trails has since expanded to offer a variety of tours and cooking classes.

The tours include Masala Trails (Indian), Turkish Trails & African Trails. All the tours are walking tours and include a progressive meal, visit to cultural and spice shops and the background of the settlement and history of the cuisines. Tours run for approximately3 hours.

The cooking school offers authentic home style cooking for Indian, Sri Lankan, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese and Italian classes. Classes our conducted by home cooks, well versed in their heritage cooking styles and sharing tips and tricks learnt in their family kitchens. Participants have the opportunity to prepare and taste the meal cooked during the class.

At the end of 2013, Foodie Trails crossed a major milestone of carrying over 600 foodies & cultural enthusiasts on their experiences.

Constantly striving to offer their guests a better experience in 2013 the website was relaunched to enable live availability and bookings. Bookings can also be made via a number of the customer’s favourite booking websites like Red Balloon, Viator, Godo, Oz Experience, Gift it now among others.  Keeping in mind todays time poor and on the go customers, this ease of booking Foodie Trails experiences aims to assist its guests with a speedy and timely booking process.

Guests now also have the ability to purchase gift vouchers online and email them instants to their loved ones.  “We find that a lot of friends and family who live outside Melbourne purchase gift vouchers for their Melbourne family. Customers have often commented on the flexibility of being able to buy the voucher and the family members can book online for a date of their choice when they are ready.” says Munshaw Luhar.

In 2014 Foodie Trails will be offering customers the opportunity to join the local food experts on their international food tours to Sri Lanka, India, Turkey and Africa. The international tours are authentic experiences of not just the tourist sites, but the opportunity to interact with the locals in their homes, participate in local cooking classes and sample some of the feasts atthe best restaurants these countries have to offer. Departing at various times during the year, the flavours of the world await you.

The tours and classes are priced at $125 per person inclusive of a progressive three course meal. There are a limited number of places available and bookings can be made at www.foodietrails.com.au or by calling 1800667791
