Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience shortlisted for digital award

The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience website has been shortlisted for another major digital award just weeks after finishing as a runner-up in the eircom Golden Spider Awards.

 
PRLog - Feb. 10, 2014 - CONNOLLY, Ireland -- The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience website has been shortlisted for another major digital award just weeks after finishing as a runner-up in the eircom Golden Spider Awards.

www.cliffsofmoher.ie has been shortlisted for the Samsung Digital Media Awards ‘Best in Travel & Tourism’ category, the winner of which will be announced on February 21st.

Other shortlisted entries include Discover Ireland - Home Holidays, The Gathering Ireland 2013, Killarney View House, Irelands Blue Book by Net Affinity, and Abbey Travel.

The Cliffs of Moher website was launched in July 2013 having undergone a revamp that introduced a number of new features, including of an interactive guide to the visitor attraction and 360 degree panoramic views of the Cliffs and Visitor Centre.

“www.cliffsofmoher.ie focuses on bringing the Cliffs of Moher to the visitor,” explained Geraldine Enright, Marketing Manager, Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience.

She continued: “The website is designed to have a high visual appeal with full screen background images and exciting video and 360 degree image content bringing the site alive.  It can be viewed on mobile devices including smartphone and iPad.  Visitors planning their trip have use of an interactive map with suggested walking routes and can even book their tickets online at a discounted price. The website is fully integrated with Social Media including Facebook and Twitter, YouTube, TripAdvisor, Pinterest and Stumbleupon. The story of the Cliffs of Moher is told along a timeline reaching back into the distant past.”

The award nomination is the latest success for the Cliffs of Moher which last year attracted 960,134 visitors, compared to 873,988 during 2012. It is the third successive increase in visitor numbers to the Cliffs of Moher with year-on-year increases of 12% and 8% being achieved during 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience last week was presented with a Silver Merit Award at the 2014 CIE Awards for Visitor Attractions. The awards are chosen from an independent evaluation of feedback surveys completed by over 17,000 CIE Tours International customers.
