Son of Robin Hood lives out his brother’s dream

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Feb. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Nicholas Hood, being the youngest of Robin Hood’s three sons, was an aspiring young writer when tragedy struck. At age twenty- six Nick was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. His dream of writing slowly faded as he found it more and more difficult to concentrate. In November of 2009 Nick lost his battle with cancer at age thirty- one and so went his dream.

Then on the second anniversary of Nick’s death, his brother Eric made a decision that would change his own life forever. Eric decided that as a tribute to Nick he would try to write and live out Nick’s dream of becoming a writer. In his biography Eric describes himself as a “story teller” and not a writer. Although the reviews that he has received would suggest that he is certainly both.

The story is “Melabeth the Vampire” and Eric who writes under the name of E.B. Hood has published the first two books and busy writing the third of the three book series. Eric says that this is a story about forgiveness and is an idea that he pitched to Nick as they spent many hours together bouncing around ideas. In fact one of the main characters, in the Melabeth story, is named Nicks and is modeled after Nick himself.

Eric states that by writing the stories that he and Nick use to tell each other, he feels he is not only keeping Nick’s memory alive but also sharing a vision. Eric describes Nick as his baby brother and best friend. As further tribute, the second book in the series contains a short story “The Dwarf and the Basilisk” by Nicholas B. Hood
