Follow on Google News | Double Honors for Automobile Association of MalaysiaTunku Mudzaffar was elected as a member of the senate, the top ranked body in FIA that overseas the management and finances of the FIA. He was one of the four members elected to the senate in the recent general assembly in Paris where Jean Todt was elected as president for a second four-year term. For Tunku Mudzaffar, this was his third term as a member of the senate. Meanwhile, Zaharuddinwas elected as the FIM Asia president for a four-year term at the FIM general assembly in KL last week. His credentials of 30 years experience in motorsports ranging from marketing, circuit management, event management and regulatory body function gave him the winning edge. He replaced Stephen Carapiet from Philipines. The FIM Asia, which has 25 members representing their national federations, is a continental union (CONU) of geographical subdivisions and are accountable to FIM. There are six CONUs representing each continent in the world. Presidents of the CONUs are ex-offico voting members of the FIM board of directors.
