By: Capital Foresight Los Angeles-based Foster the People first sought out the historic building as the location for the giant mural promoting their highly anticipated sophomore album “Supermodel,” Capital Foresight, who has been on a mission along side property manager Cannon Management to breathe new life into the 132-unit building, saw the mural as an opportunity to increase its local charm and further integrate with Downtown’s thriving art culture. “Everything about this building is just cool, especially its location, so it is no surprise to me that a popular band like Foster the People would want to advertise here,” said Naty Saidoff of Capital Foresight. “Santa Fe Lofts is the perfect example of what we hope to achieve with all of our purchases in the Downtown area. Our goal is always to improve on a property by incorporating modern styling and updated amenities all while showcasing its original qualities.” With units ranging from 570 square feet to as large as 3,500 square feet, underground parking and 14,000 square feet of retail space, Santa Fe Lofts is rapidly becoming one of Downtown’s premier live/work loft buildings. Interiors boast features such as oversized windows, original hexagonal plaster columns, mosaic tile, exposed brick, sealed or polished distressed concrete floors and modern kitchens. Officially reopened in November, the building rooftop is the property’s newest cosmetic upgrade. Residents enjoy a newly constructed pergola structure, gas barbeques, and purposefully appointed lighting and exterior wall coverings with gorgeous skyline views as a backdrop. The rooftop also hosts over a dozen fruit-bearing citrus trees and Downtown’s first rooftop “Urban Farm,” allowing residents to plant, cultivate and harvest fruits, vegetables and herbs in self-watering, environmentally- Santa Fe Lofts’ renovations notonly add curb appeal to the building itself, but also significantly improve the look and feel of the neighborhood. In addition to the new rooftop, improvements include a modern leasing office, a newly upgraded penthouse available for lease and potted trees along the sidewalk. Captial Foresight has also brought in exciting new ground-level retailers, such asVape Supply Co. and The Nail Parlor in addition to local favorites Pussy & Pooch, Las Perlas, Salon Pure, Semi Sweet Bakery and J&J Sandwich, among others. “We know that it is important to create an experience with a residential building, especially in the Downtown market,” said Peter Densmore, owner of Cannon Management with over 20 years of experience managing residential properties. “Downtown Los Angeles is a lifestlye and it has been incredible watching our team reinvent SFL to be a part that new culture. I am excited to watch the building continue to evolve as more and more Angelenos start to see Downtown in a whole new light.” Capital Foresight and Cannon Management are working together on a variety of properties in Downtown, spanning the Historic Core, Arts District and the Garment District, making the team a major player in the revitilization of DTLA.
