DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Delray Beach, FL – Feb. 5, 2014 – Brandon Hall Group (http://www.brandonhall.com/) today released LMS Trends 2014: Satisfaction and Spending, (http://go.brandonhall.com/lms_trends_2014) the first in a series of reports from its annual survey research on LMS buying and usage trends.

The survey results show that Learning Management System (LMS) solutions are underperforming in the eyes of the organizations that use them. Less than half of respondents (45.5%) give their LMS solution high marks in terms of overall value for the price they pay. Additionally, 47.7% of respondents are looking to leave their current LMS platform and move to a new provider.

There are many reasons that drive organizations to make wholesale changes to their LMS, and some of the top reasons identified in this study include:

Poor reporting features

Difficult to use

Poor customer support

Out-of-date appearance

Inability to adapt to changing needs

Lack of mobile features

“In a nutshell, far too many organizations feel they are paying too much for systems that are difficult to use, out of date, and do not provide the data and analytics they need,” said David Wentworth, the Senior Learning Analyst who conducted the research. “One interesting correlation we found is that organizations that spend more of their learning budget on their LMS and spend more dollars per learner report lower satisfaction rates.”

The online survey garnered a total of 457 responses from a wide variety of industries and company sizes. Respondents were almost evenly split between small, mid-sized, and large organizations. About 63% of responses came from the United States. About 18% of responses came from Australia, India, Canada and the United Kingdom, with the remainder spread between 25 other countries.
