Modernism Week Launches A New Web Series On YouTube

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 5, 2014) - With just one week until Modernism Week (http://www.modernismweek.com/), tickets to most events (other than the numerous free events (http://www.modernismweek.com/free/)) have sold out completely.  The annual celebration of mid-century architecture, design, and culture - now in its 9th year - expects over 40,000 visitors over the course of the 11-day festival in Palm Springs, CA.  In an effort to engage an even broader audience, Modernism Week is launching “Man About Modernism” on Wednesday, February 5th, a special web series produced in collaboration with World of Wonder (http://worldofwonder.net/), an international entertainment company known for creating cutting-edge pop-culture content for television.   The series gives viewers an exclusive inside peek at the best of Modernism Week and an unprecedented level of access to some of the most remarkable homes, parties, shops, and best kept secrets in Palm Springs.

Playing host is the quintessential Man About Modernism, Stephen Collins (http://www.stephenmcollins.com/), who appeared most recently as the host of Bravo TV's Property Envy (http://www.bravotv.com/property-envy).  A semi-nomadic bon vivant who has traveled the world collecting 20th century art, objects, and furniture, Collins is the consummate gentleman host and a recent transplant to the Palm Springs.  Arriving at each destination in his classic Lincoln Town Car, Collins will take viewers along for the ride as he explores some of the most interesting aspects of Modernism Week, including private tours of exclusive modernist homes that are not typically open to the public, a peek inside his own Palm Springs warehouse chock full of 20th century art and artifacts, pop-ins and drive-bys of Palm Springs’ most notable hotspots, and a behind-the-scenes look at some of Modernism Week's most popular events.

Man About Modernism premieres on February 5th on Modernism Week's YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/ModernismWeek), which is part of World of Wonder's WOW Presents (http://www.youtube.com/user/WOWPresents) network of channels.  Episodes air on a biweekly basis every Wednesday and Saturday through mid-March.  Follow Modernism Week and/or World of Wonder to see the latest webisode.
