The Expo Milano 2015 Coin at The World Money Fair Berlin

Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- International preview for the official Coin Expo 2015 : February 7 , the coin will be a star of the WMF - Word Money Fair in Berlin , the most important event of the numismatic sector worldwide.

The presentation will be held during the Media Forum dedicated to the top news , with the participation of the major mints of the world, journalists and specialized operators.
The two presidents Hans -Henning Göhrum  and Albert Beck will be presented a test version of the record-coin of Expo Milano 2015 , 15 centimeters  in diameter, among one of the largest in size in the world.

“This moment – says the Italian Ambassador to Germany Elio Menzione first Italian diplomat to present abroad the issue Expo 2015 - shows the spirit and the enthusiasm with which it is preparing Expo 2015, an event that will lead 142 states to Milan, and which Germany has joined with the belief among the first. The Expo will allow Italy to show its excellence and contribute to the debate to a more sustainable future and quality food”.

The Berlin event will be an opportunity to present further examples of the issues created for the Universal Exposition  including some prototypes and products. Among them, the Eco Coin in recycled metal, typologies in Gold or Silver, experiments of special coinages as an unusual “bi-material  wood-metal” designed for the field operators in the wood, and specimens of pink colored gold and silver coins inspired by the project Expo Milano 2015  “We, Women for Expo" dedicated to the female world. A special edition is dedicated to the participant Nations with the personalization of  the name of the Country and the Expo’s theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".

The coin has been designed by the author of the Euro, Luc Luycx of the Royal Belgian Mint , and Laura Cretara , the first woman engraver in the world and creator of the most beautiful coins of the Italian Republic. It symbolizes the unity of the peoples of the world, showing on one side the number 1 icon repeated five times , and on the other side the logo of Expo Milan 2015, surrounded by 5 leaves of trees characteristic of every continent, to remember the theme.

Sandro Sassoli , general chief-coordinator for the exclusive licensee Museum of Time for the Project  “Expo Milano 2015 Coin and Medal Program”, says: " Money is a symbol that has stood for centuries. The prototype of the coin was introduced in Italy in May 2012, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan , with the presence of the CEO and sole Commissioner Government Representative for Milan Expo 2015 Mr. Giuseppe Sala , the Honour President of the World Money Fair Mr. Albert Beck, and of the two authors .
