Kathy Pennell Cooperman of Denver, CO helps business leaders reduce or remove the fear of speaking.  She is currently hosting an eight-week webinar series to help professionals enhance their presentation skills.  The most popular session so far has been the one titled “Reduce the Fear of Speaking”.  This one-hour, informative and entertaining session highlights the most common fears and how to tackle them one by one.  Additionally Kathy has recently produced an eBook, an MP3 recording, a video and a recorded webinar on the topic.

The fear of speaking has topped the list of “The Top 10 Fears” for many years.  "People often joke about how the fear of speaking is #2 and the fear of death is #2,” said Cooperman.  “As senior leaders are expected to make compelling presentations to investment bankers, shareholders, investors and the community, overcoming fear is priority one.”

With one on one intensive practice, Cooperman helps leaders explore the basis of their fear and then create a plan to overcome it.  The next step is to make it work for them by channeling the adrenaline into a more passionate and convincing story that they share during their presentations.  Cooperman explained that a surprising large number of celebrities have overcome speaker anxiety, including Johnny Carson, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts and many more.
