Our youth need for examples of success and the Manhood 101 program seeks to meet the needs of our youth by hosting events like Investing in Success.
Tunua Thrash-Ntuk, Executive Director, and Irvin Shannon, Program Manager, of WACDC have invited industry leaders to inspire, mentor, and teach the young men of South Los Angeles. Industry experts will impart the tools necessary to become a successful entrepreneur.
Invited speaker, Sheila P. Coates, Owner and Personal Branding Expert, of BYOB (Be Your Own Brand!) and Financial Investor and Founder of The Kemet Institute, Rashaun Williams, will lead workshops geared towarded financial literacy, personal and business branding, and business plan development.
Young men ages 14-18 years old will benefit immensely from the event. The overall goal of this event is for young men to leave considering entrepreneurship as a viable career path for themselves.
Supporters of this program have embraced the young men by taking photos with them and conversating about their promising futures. Recently, (pictured) ,Matt Kemp, took time during the West Angeles CDC's 20th Annual Unity Awards Gala event that honored him as "Man of the Year" to be pictured with young men from the MANHOOD 101 Program.
