"Becoming American:Why Immigration is Good for Our Nation’s Future" Book Debunks Immigration Myths

Through his in-depth research and analysis, Fariborz Ghadar has been able to dispel numerous misconceptions about immigration and to explain why immigration is imperative to the United States’ continued prosperity.

PRLog - Feb. 4, 2014 - WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, INC. releases new comprehensive immigration book by renowned expert Fariborz Ghadar. Becoming American: Why Immigration is Good for Our Nation’s Future comes at a time when the issue of immigration has been at the forefront of much heated debate. Through his in-depth research and analysis, Ghadar has been able to dispel numerous misconceptions about immigration and to explain why immigration is imperative to the United States’ continued prosperity.

But Becoming American isn’t simply another immigration book riddled with statistics, trends, facts and theories. An immigrant himself, Ghadar offers a personal approach to his study. Not only does he tell his own story, but also, through transcribed interviews, he shares the narratives of some of our nation’s most successful immigrants. CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies John Hamre said about the book, “An American by choice, Fariborz Ghadar offers an unblinking perspective on the challenges and aspirations of immigrants, weaving together concrete analysis and personal narrative into an insightful book with useful policy prescriptions.” With its unique method, Becoming American aims to frame the current immigration debate in real terms.

The 200-paged Becoming American is available March of 2014. It can be ordered online at www.rowman.com.

Ghadar is the William A. Schreyer Professor of Global Management, Policies and Planning and founding director of the Center for Global Business Studies at the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University. He is also a senior advisor and distinguished scholar at The Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. Iranian born, Dr. Ghadar became a citizen of the United States in 1979.
