But Becoming American isn’t simply another immigration book riddled with statistics, trends, facts and theories. An immigrant himself, Ghadar offers a personal approach to his study. Not only does he tell his own story, but also, through transcribed interviews, he shares the narratives of some of our nation’s most successful immigrants. CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies John Hamre said about the book, “An American by choice, Fariborz Ghadar offers an unblinking perspective on the challenges and aspirations of immigrants, weaving together concrete analysis and personal narrative into an insightful book with useful policy prescriptions.”
The 200-paged Becoming American is available March of 2014. It can be ordered online at www.rowman.com.
