DETROIT - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Celebrating Black History Month, The Projection Booth podcast is examining four varied works with starring African American protagonists. The celebration begins with a look at Melvin Van Peebles's Watermelon Man, featuring interviews with co-star Estelle Geddes and filmmaker Joe Angio (How to Eat Your Watermelon in White Company (...and Enjoy It). Week two includes a discussion of the 1973 action picture Hit! starring Billy Dee Williams. This episode includes an interview with veteran director Sidney J. Furie (The Ipcress File). Week three has co-hosts Robert St. Mary and Mike White joined by Lansing reporter Jason S. Smith to discuss Spike Lee's Bamboozled. This episode features an interview with John Strausbaugh, author of Black Like You: Blackface, Whiteface, Insult & Imitation in American Popular Culture. The month caps off with a look at Larry Cohen's Bone, featuring an interview with Cohen.

New episodes of the Projection Booth podcast are available every Wednesday via iTunes, Stitcher, or their website. The podcast has been releasing episodes since March, 2011 and have hosted a wide variety of industry participants, scholars, and fans to discuss an array of films.
