The Chocolate 5k comes to Miami supporting MAST Academy & Adopt A Classroom

MIAMI - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- NR Road Racing will hold The Chocolate 5k in Orlando, FL on Sunday February 16, 2014 at 9:00 AM to benefit the AdoptAClassroom & MAST Academy. The event will be held on the Crandon Park at 6747 Crandon Blvd. Key Biscayne, FL 33149. Race registration is $35 for individuals and $30 per person for teams of 4 or more.  There will be a $40 walk up registration fee. All ages are welcome, however, you must register anyone six and older. We also welcome anyone who would like to volunteer!

NR Road Racing presents a chocolatey good time. We are offering you sweet treats to keep you going throughout the 5k. Yes there will still be water stations, but for those of you with a sweet tooth, you can also have a little piece of joy. Enjoy a family friendly three mile course with your friends, family, and other choc-oholics strangers. Doesn’t matter how fast or old you are; everyone is welcome to participate and join in the fun! After the race, we’ll be still partying and filling up with chocolate. You are invited to hangout and party to the music and have some more chocolate on us! Family and friends are always encouraged to join in the party at the end!

AdoptAClassroom is giving teachers a hand. Teachers spend as much as $1000 out of their own pockets every year to make their classrooms into the best possible learning conditions for students. AdoptAClassroom provides teachers with a crowdfunding tool that allows them to get the supplies they need for the classroom without spending their own hard-earned money. Funds raised in the Chocolate 5k will benefit local high school MAST Academy. Teachers will receive the funds in their AdoptAClassroom.org and be able to spend those funds on much-needed classroom supplies!

“As an engineering teacher ‘classroom supplies’ means not only paper and pencils but science equipment, art supplies, and consumable materials.  AdoptAClassroom allows me to use donations received for my classroom to meet these diverse needs.  I was incredibly excited when NR Road Racing approached us about donating to our school through AdoptAClassroom and look forward to the great materials I will be able to make available to my students as a result of those donations,” stated Melissa Fernandez, Engineering Instructor at MAST Academy.
