Follow on Google News | Temple Theatre Presents: Comedy for the Cause: A Johnny Burke Children's Foundation BenefitBy: Temple Theatre Comedy for the Cause will benefit the Johnny Burke Childrens Foundation, which raises funds to help children in need of expensive medical treatment or equipment, kids who have lost their parents or have other challenges. JBCF has distributed over a million dollars to kids who needed it; helping families find shelter, buying human hair wigs for kids who’ve lost their hair, purchasing computers for autistic learning programs, paying for back-to-school backpacks–fighting truancy, and providing scholarships to special summer camp programs for special children, to name only a few. The show will include hordourves and 3 exceptionally funny comics: Julie Lyons--To quote Julie “I’m really quite funny”. Julie has been described as “Donna Reed on Acid”. As an unwittingly comedian her entire life, Julie has finally taken this natural talent to the stage. Her comedic bent comes from what she refers to as her sad pathetic like as a divorced grandmother. Julie has won several comedy contests and has been featured on television and radio. Steve Lind—As a, a former public school math teacher and coach, a computer programmer, as well as husband and father of four boys, Steve immerses his audience with his unique perspectives. He’s energetic style and natural likeability help to soften his satirical but never mean spirited outlook on life. Steve has recently opened for Tim Allen and Kathleen Madigan at Dick Purtan’s Comedy Night Out event. Norm Stulz—Norm takes events of his life and transform them into hilarious stories which are timeless. It’s these stories which make Norm’s brand of humor so special and have delighted audiences national and internationally. Norm has been seen on H.B.O., Comedy Central, Showtime, and comedy specials on N.B.C. and A.B.C. television. You may have also heard his material on The Bob and Tom Show, Johnny Burke and the Morning Crew, and XM Comedy radio. Comedy for the Cause will be performed March 8, 2014.
