High Velocity As Reading Shows Expansion Despite Market Rumblings
 
MELVILLE, N.Y. - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- New York City business activity maintained its fastest three months of expansion since early 2011, since speeding up in the second half of 2013, according to the survey taken by the Institute for Supply Management - New York (ISM-New York).

Current Business Conditions came in at 64.4 in January and marked thr first three-month streak above the lofy 60.0 mark in three years.

Future optimism remained widespread.  The Six-Month Outlook was 70.0 in January, making December and January the first back-to-back months with a 70 handle in two years.

Faster business activity translated to faster jobs growth.  Employment rose to a three-year high of 60.7 in January.

Purchase volume rose to a five month high.  Quantity of Purchases came in at 53.8 in January.

Prices Paid rose to a ten-month high of 63.0 in January.

Top-line expansion echoed that of the headline Current Business Conditions index, and forward guidance rose to a five-month high.  Current Revenues were 63.5 in January, and Expected Revenues were 71.7 in January.
