Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- San Francisco (January 30, 2014) –  Mint Medical Education Announces the Release of the VIP Ultrasound Case Review 2.0 (http://www.mintmedicaleducation.com/vip-ultrasound-case-review/). Since the initial release of this course last summer, Mint has collected feedback from doctors and clinicians participating in the online activity, and is now pleased to announce this version 2.0 release which enhances the user experience and assessment sections of the course.

“The improvements made to our Case Study Review System are a direct result of user feedback,” says Julie Gaston, Head of Ultrasound Education at Mint.  “We have simplified the interpretation format for carotid and lower extremity venous case studies removing ambiguity, while still providing a real world platform for vascular interpretation.”

The VIP Ultrasound Case Review activity provides access to 500 vascular ultrasound cases for review and assessment of physician’s ultrasound interpretation skills. Cases are presented across Carotid, Arterial, Venous and Abdominal vasculature. This course is designed for Radiologists, Cardiologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Sonographer and helps these specialists prepare, and meet a key requirement, to sit for the RPVI exam offered by the ARDMS. After completing the VIP Ultrasound Case Review 2.0 (http://www.mintmedicaleducation.com/vip-ultrasound-case-r...), the clinician will be better able to:

- Identify normal anatomy and flow dynamics of a carotid ultrasound
- Describe plaque, grade stenosis, and identify pathology
- Evaluate the upper and lower extremity arteries with duplex imaging and  physiologic testing
- Evaluate the upper and lower extremity veins with duplex imaging and physiologic testing for stenosis and occlusion
- Identify abnormalities of renal arteries, mesenteric, aorta, and liver vasculature
- Consider possible contraindications to ultrasound exam interpretation relative to gender, age, weight, and comorbidities
- Evaluate a dialysis access fistulas and grafts

VIP Ultrasound Case Review 2.0 is available for independent purchase or is included as a part of Mint’s Vascular Interpretation Preceptorship. (http://www.mintmedicaleducation.com/ultrasound-education/...)
