Chevrolet Promotes World Cancer Day in Super Bowl XLVIII Ad | Hawthorne Chevrolet

Feb. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- HAWTHORNE, NEW JERSEY—A number of automakers aired TV spots during Super Bowl XLVIII, but a Chevrolet ad was one of the most emotionally resonant. The ad, entitled “Life,” promoted World Cancer Day.

“With estimates that more than 100 million watched today’s game, we could achieve our goal with just 1 percent participation,” said Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet’s global chief marketing officer. “Most of us, including many of our employees, have been touched by cancer in some way and this spot celebrates cancer survivors and those who support them.”

Chevrolet currently has a Purple Roads initiative, in which the automaker will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society for every social media user that changes their Facebook or Twitter profile image to purple, up to $1 million. This money will go to supporting cancer patients and their families.

World Cancer Day is on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
