Dr. Adam Fechner Named New Acting Division Director for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. - Feb. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) named University Reproductive Associates’ Dr. Adam Fechner, a specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology, as Acting Division Director for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Fechner who earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, will be leading faculty, staff, and trainees at the Donna A. Sanzari Women's Hospital at HUMC starting immediately. As Acting Division Director, Dr. Fechner will lend his knowledge and talent in collaborating with and managing outpatient and in-patient practice, as well as training, research, and service work.

Dr. Fechner's responsibilities as Acting Division Director will be both managerial and clinical. He will collaborate with the Chair and Specialist-in-Chief of Ob/Gyn on improving, developing, and implementing clinical service and quality to better care for HUMC patients. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Fechner will manage recruiting and retaining the highest caliber team of medical professionals, and he will work to ensure the strength of the educational program to develop forward-thinking programs and ensure the best care possible. As the Acting Division Director, he will also work with other Division Directors throughout the Medical Center, as well as serve as an expert on issues related to REI.

After graduating with honors from Harvard University, Dr. Fechner studied at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, receiving his MD, completing a residency in Ob/Gyn, and undergoing additional specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility with an emphasis on assisted reproductive technology and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Fechner has been the recipient of the UMDNJ-NJMS Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Chairman's Award, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award, and the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, among others. He is currently an attending physician at University Reproductive Associates where he also specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
