James "Jim" Passanante's extensive body of work in the film industry is impressive. He has worked on more than 70 films which include Cold Mountain, Big Fish, Shallow Hal, Righteous Kill, The Conspirator, Back to the Future, Forrest Gump and many, many more. Serving as a Construction Coordinator on many films and as a Scenic Artist on others, Jim's main focus on a film is to construct the visual elements that are consistent with the script and in sync with the desires of the Production Designer. Jim's primary responsibilities include turning the blueprints into workable sets.
Since 1973, while still a junior in high school, Jim began his career at Universal Studios. Working there for 14 years, he worked on many well known television series' to include Ironsides, BJ & the Bear, Air Wolf and Knight Rider. After leaving Universal and beginning work on independent films, Jim's credited and uncredited work includes jobs like stand by painter, paint supervisor, lead scenic, scenic artist, and construction coordinator. If anything had to be built for the movie, then Jim and his crew had something to do with it.
