Opening night for The Color Purple musical proved to be a big hit

INDIANAPOLIS - Feb. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Feb 01, 2014, Indianapolis. IN – Oprah Winfrey’s Tony Award winning musical, The Color Purple scored a big hit in downtown Indianapolis for opening night on January 31. The cast performed for a sold out crowd at the Athenaeum Theatre and is anticipating keeping the momentum going.

Audience members who walked “The Purple Carpet” prior to the show were interviewed about their anticipation for the show and what they were most looking forward to in regards to the cast.

“I’m looking forward to seeing this wonderful cast of local talent and hearing some of my favorite lines from the film.” said Faith Moore-McKinney, author of new book “Schmingling.”

The cast is compromised of local actors, dancers, singers and musicians who all share one thing in common—seeing this production come to life.

In a recent interview with CHATS TV, actor and cast member Lyndell Campbell who portrays the character of Harpo said, “I’m very excited to be part of this production. I’m looking forward to putting my own twist to the character I play.”
