"Basketball Intelligence Night" at Sacramento Kings game on March 1

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Feb. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Basketball Intelligence, a global web-based network of aficionados of the best writing about professional basketball curated by Capitol Seminars founder Ray LeBov, will make its “public debut” with a pregame gathering on Saturday, March 1 prior to the Sacramento Kings – Minnesota Timberwolves game at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

Tipoff for the game is at 7:00 p.m. PST and the Basketball Intelligence pregame event begins at 5:30 p.m.

“The Kings looked at the breadth of our coverage and the demographics of our subscriber base and encouraged us to build a ‘Basketball Intelligence Night’ around one of their games,” says LeBov. “It will be interesting to see how our online concept translates into the area of public discourse, and to meet face to face with subscribers we have only known up to this point through their email addresses, comments and other feedback.”

The Kings are offering reduced-price tickets, free of service charges, to anyone who visits http://www.kingsgrouptickets.com/basketballiq and enters the passcode “Kings.” It is not necessary to be a Basketball Intelligence subscriber to qualify for the group rate. The pregame event is included in the ticket price.

The pregame gathering will feature guest subject matter experts on NBA basketball and offer opportunities for questions and dialogue – relative to the teams involved, the league, trends in the game, and other subjects.

LeBov, who is also the executive director of the Association for Professional Basketball Research, publishes Basketball Intelligence daily, and sometimes twice daily, at http://basketballintelligence.wordpress.com. He founded the blog, he says, as a means of separating truly informed, credible journalism about the sport from the wall of noise generated by amateur bloggers and self-appointed experts on the sport.

“I just wanted to say, I'm really glad this website exists,” wrote one subscriber. “There is a lot of random junk out there that claims to be ‘basketball journalism,’ but Basketball Intelligence has only offered me thought-provoking or insightful articles. Hopefully one day I can write something that deserves to be posted on this site!”

LeBov has spent 39 years working in and around state government in Sacramento – 17 years as Legislative staff and 22 years in governmental advocacy, 13 of those with the Judicial Council and nine under his own banner, Ray LeBov & Associates. Since 2007, his Capitol Seminars courses “Lobbying 101” and “Lobbying 201” have trained more than 1500 participants in the real-world, practical applications of governmental advocacy in California.
