Boston's Fenway Park has hosted many great outdoor concerts in the past few years including Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and now Billy Joel adds his name to the list of amazing performers to headline America's Most Beloved Ballpark.
The Red Sox are scheduled to be off on Thursday, June 26th and then they will be in New York to play a series against the Yankees beginning on Friday, June 27th. The Sox will be in Seattle the few days leading up to the first scheduled show so there is a possibility of a second show being added with a possibility of Wednesday the 25th or Friday the 27th. This is just speculation though, there is no supporting evidence that there will even be a second show.
However, Fenway Park concerts do sell out very quickly. Jason Aldean sold out nearly 38,000 seats in just 5 minutes. Most artists do sell out at Fenway Park and Billy Joel will be no exception! The success of Billy Joel's more recent shows sparked interest in a small-scale tour which ultimately lead to dates at major venues such as Fenway Park in Boston, Nationals Park in Washington DC, Wrigley Field in Chiccago and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. These MLB stadiums were built for baseball, but can pack in tons of fans for a concert!
