“Since his (Bieber's) arrest, we can't keep our Lamborghini's on the lot,” said an official for Elite Luxury Rentals, a premier rental company specializing in exotic car rentals in Miami. “Everyone wants to drive the car that Justin was driving. While we certainly love the increase in business, we DID NOT rent the car to the 19 year-old.”
Federal law restricts rental of automobiles only to licensed drivers over the age of 25. It has been speculated that a member of the pop-star's management or entourage rented the vehicle and, regretfully, allowed the teenager to drive.
Following the death of actor, Paul Walker made famous by the series of films, The Fast and the Furious, and now the Justin Bieber arrest, Elite Luxury Rentals has seen an increase in exotic car rentals over the past six weeks.
“Our sports cars are usually in great demand but these recent events that have been in the media have driven a completely new demographic into our showroom,” commented the Elite Luxury Rentals representative. “We have to turn away those young people who aren't old enough to meet our criteria. Personally, I wouldn't want my 17 year old daughter driving such powerful machines. Realistically, we're lucky to be hearing about the arrest of Justin Bieber and not another unfortunate death like Paul Walker.”
While Elite Luxury Rentals does specialize in exotic and rare sports cars, one of their many and equally impressive chauffeur driven Limousines may have served the young Bieber more comfortably and with better results.
“We rent limos to young people for prom and special events all of the time,” the ELR rep continued, “But, we supply a driver who would never allow someone else to drive the car. Plus, the parents or guardians are required on the contract before our car will leave the lot.”
