Funky P Busy in the recording studio with Pamela Falcon

SYDNEY - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Soul-funk band Funky P have been very busy in the recording studio, working on brand new tracks with big voice Pamela Falcon. With producer Claudio Pagonis, who has worked with great artists such as Max Mutzke, No Angels, Jennifer Braun and many more, the tracks were recorded in Tinseltown Studios.

Funky P Society is a Luxembourg-based modern soul-funk band. In musical terms, the goal of Funky P is to set an example of how, with contemporary production, stylish funk tailored for the dance-floor can meet the musical craftsmanship of the past. As one observer commented: “This is heavy, real soul music for the future.”

New York born Pamela Falcon is an exciting addition to the Funky P sound with her voice being described as rough and powerful but at the same time delicate and sensitive. Pamela performs regularly with her band in her show ‘New York Nights’, as well as at the Riff Club and as a guest on ‘Fresh Music Live’.

This year has been a signature year for Funky P (LUX). First of all, forming the production company Funky P SA, the full album release (Get The Funk), single song release “Falling” receiving 2 international awards from IAIRA for international chart placement, French CD distribution deal with independent record company I.G.W.T. Music (PARIS), opening act for German group Culcha Candela at the Diekirch 750 year celebration (6,000 people) in June 2010, playing at Rock-A-Field in Luxembourg for 20, 000 people in June 2010 and now being chosen to open for Joe Cocker at the Luxembourg Rockhal (6,000 people) on 30 Oct 2010.

Opening for several star acts such as PINK! (September –2007), Solomon Burke (June -2009) Funky P has become a dynamic eight piece, a mixture of those involved in the album along side some serious new talent. The band has played a variety of venues, such as the Blues & Jazz Rally Luxembourg (2004), TV appearance of DOK.TV, Planet Hollywood Paris (2005 American Independence Day Celebration) or National Day Celebration media City stage 2005 “GellaFra” Luxembourg City , represented Luxembourg at POPKOMM Berlin (2006) and was chosen as opening act for Maceo Parker in Luxembourg.

From a musicianship viewpoint they are off the scale, particularly the groove of the guitarist (Cavallini), bass (Reichling) and drummer (Herr). The funky horn section (Engelhardt, Kuffer and Reuter) are reminiscent of the band Chicago and the Keys (Schaus) are inspired by Herbie Hancock. The lead singer (Isaac) obviously has a great relationship with the band (almost telepathic at times.) Their humor and energy are infectious and they seem to love trading off lead vocal lines with horns. Funky P is well on the path to becoming a rare feature, a popular contemporary “International Soul Band”. “Real music made by Funky P Society is the dawn of a new era of music.”
