Levity Press announces the upcoming release of Center of Gravity by Bonita Springs, FL resident, Geva Salerno. The memoir is set in Southwest Florida and chronicles Salerno’s year-long experiment in reinventing and reclaiming her life. This story is the moving account of how one woman overcame fear and self-doubt in order to find her true self.
Salerno feels that women have unique skills and gifts that can be applied to solving the world’s problems. In Center of Gravity, Salerno contends that all women should take time out to learn who they really are and what they have to offer the world.
About the Book
After finding herself overworked, divorced and obsessed with achieving society’s vision of the perfect life, unhappy Southwest Floridian businesswoman Geva Salerno takes a leap of faith. For one year, she challenges herself to step outside her preconceived ideas about life in order to reclaim her true self. What does this mean? No dating for 12 months, (nor even thinking about men!), and a different, healthier relationship with work. This forces her to examine her real monetary needs and how she spends her time.
As Geva dives into the difficult process of dismantling her false life and slowly building a more authentic, creative and fulfilling one, she begins to take more risks, bringing long-forgotten dreams and aspirations back to life. Over the course of the year, Geva meets several people who are on similar paths. Strong new women enter her life. Meanwhile, several interesting men tempt her to give up the quest forcing her to choose between familiar patterns and an uncharted future.
"Will Geva give up the experiment and return to her old life?"
"Can Geva create a life where she no longer needs men?"
"What role will men play in her new life?"
"Will her discoveries affect the lives of millions of women around the world?"
