PRLog - Jan. 30, 2014 - Unveiling an upgraded version of their popular EyeSight driver-assistance system, the engineers at Subaru have shown that a great thing can be made even better. While this news alone is enough to thrill the team at Subaru of Hilton Head, a premier Savannah area Subaru dealership (http://www.subaruofhiltonhead.com/cities/subaru-dealers-savannah/), it is the announcement that the innovative safety system will now be featured on more Subaru vehicles than ever before that really puts the icing on the cake.

The highlight of the new EyeSight system has to be the color stereo cameras. These cameras provide a detection range that is nearly 40% wider and longer than was previously possible; it also adds braked light detection. Additionally, the camera can now operate fully when the speed differential between an EyeSight-equipped Subaru and another vehicle are traveling at up to 30 mph — an increase of 11 mph over the capability of the previous version.

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the current EyeSight system its highest rating of “Superior” in their accident-avoidance technology testing, which was first conducted last year.

One of the most affordable collision-mitigation technologies currently available in the U.S., the EyeSight system has been available on Subaru vehicles for two years, and has earned high praise and accolades from both industry experts and Subaru owners.

According to recent surveys, nine out of ten Subaru owners who purchased the EyeSight system say that they would recommend it to friends and family, and more than half report that the system has aided them in the avoidance of an accident.

The next-generation EyeSight system will be available on 2015 model Subaru vehicles, which will be released later this year, along with three new safety systems: lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot detection.

Subaru is clearly moving to the forefront of providing drivers with the most advanced safety technologies at an affordable price. To learn more about the EyeSight driver-assistance system, drivers throughout the coastal Georgia region can visit Subaru of Hilton Head. They will be able to provide interested Savannah area drivers with all of the details regarding the current and next-generation versions of the Subaru EyeSight system. Contact their dealership (http://www.subaruofhiltonhead.com/contact-us/) for more information.
