The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF), is pleased to announce that the New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum will be part of the chamber's Family Expo at St Mary's Parish Center off of McKinley Avenue and Bishop Lane in Manahawkin on Saturday February 22, 2014 from 10am to 2pm. This free event is open to all showcasing Southern Ocean County Chamber businesses, featuring a Home Depot Children's workshop, costumed characters for photo opportunities, Stafford Township Police Department will be providing free child ID cards, Surflight To Go performances and array of games and activities. Expo attendees are invited to tour the Museum during the event, giving everyone the chance to learn more about the influential New Jersey men and women who made invaluable contributions to the state and the
world in arts, business, sports, science and business as 2014 marks New Jersey's 350th anniversary.
Designed by famed architect and NJHOF inductee Michael Graves, and renowned museum exhibition designer, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the Mobile Museum offers a dramatic multimedia exhibition created around the theme — “Make a Difference.”
Through images, artifacts, film, and interactive elements, visitors can explore the ways that Hall of Fame inductees have changed the state and the world: as innovators, as leaders, and as voices for the voiceless—often against overwhelming odds. “The mobile museum is the nation's first state hall of fame mobile museum exhibit in the nation, and BGIA is pleased to be able to sponsor this "field trip on wheels”. The mobile museum will inspire children to strive for excellence in all walks of life, and by offering positive role models, will provide them with a blueprint on how to follow in the footsteps of our Jersey legends that are
showcased onboard the Mobile Museum," said Steve Edwards, President of the NJHOF Foundation. Edwards, CEO of Business and Governmental Insurance Agency, a corporate co-sponsor of the Mobile Museum, added, “The Mobile Museum reinforces the message to children that they can achieve great things through passion and dedication.”
The New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF) honors citizens who have made invaluable contributions to society and the world beyond.
