-- Gadgets have been a favourite of ours in the UK for many years now. No, we certainly don’t need them, we also often end up using them once and then disgarding them but we definitely like getting bought them. When it comes to a birthday, Christmas or celebration a gadget is the easy option, it is a cool present that excites people much more than most of the actual useful presents you will get. Who gets excited about a pair or socks or some aftershave? Not many! You buy your mum an electronic device that opens a bottle of wine for her at the press of a button and she’ll certainly enjoy it.
Contemporary Heaven have taken the UK’s love of gadgets to heart and released their own range at their site www.contemporaryheaven.co.uk (http://www.contemporaryheaven.co.uk)
. Not only have they found fun gadgets such as portable speakers and iPod/MP3 docks but also the kind of gadgets that you could get use of around the house such as toilet roll holders with magazine racks attached and retro kettles. The major drawback to gadgets is often the fact that you can’t really get any real day to day use out of them, they only have the novelty factor and may occasionally be useful. Contemporary Heaven have gone for the kind of products that you can use to furnish your home i.e. well designed, contemporary or retro products that also have something unusual about them.
The good thing about gadgets is that you can always find something for everyone, if your mum doesn’t like electronics then don’t fear, buy her a funky recycling bin instead that will make a centre piece out of the kind of product you would normally try to hide away. If your dad has trouble using even the most simple of computers then get him some custome made stationery.
