For residents in the community that prides itself on its open spaces, a focus on family and traditional Texas roots, having the convenience of quality care in the area is important.
“When you or a loved one is sick, whether it is an emergency medical need or when a hospital stay is necessary, we know how important it is to have quality care available and accessible in your neighborhood,”
Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Murphy represents a compassionate, efficient and patient-centered approach to the delivery of emergency medical and inpatient care. The first of its kind in Collin County, this new emergency hospital will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is staffed with emergency medicine physician specialists and experienced nursing and clinical staff. The facility will have an emergency department with seven beds, diagnostic imaging including X-ray, a CT scanner and ultrasound, a laboratory and an eight-bed inpatient unit for those requiring an admission for additional medical services.
Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Murphy will offer emergency medical and inpatient care that is “patient-centric”
“By providing operationally efficient facilities and focused alignment with current health care trends, our community-based approach prioritizes limited inpatient stays, efficient emergency rooms and cost-effective pricing in a smaller campus setting,” said Wood.
Unlike urgent care centers, which are designed to handle non-life-threatening medical complaints, or free-standing emergency departments, Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Murphy will be a licensed hospital, providing clinical quality, and efficient operations. This facility is designed to provide an efficient, patient-centered experience. Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Murphy is a result of the system’s continued leadership in providing care in an area that has experienced robust population growth.
An added benefit to this community hospital is the inpatient beds it offers in a convenient, personalized setting, close to home. If a patient requires an overnight stay, Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Murphy offers comfortable inpatient beds and around-the-clock care.
“A great patient benefit is that an ER-trained physician is on-site, 24/7,” noted Wood. “The smaller setting allows for attentive care for those patients who require overnight medical care.”
