Red Cross Blood Drive Hosted by ERA Wilder Realty Gives Back to Community

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Jan. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- ERA Wilder Realty recently hosted a blood drive benefitting the American Red Cross on January 15. Agents, families, and friends donated blood to help others.

The American Red Cross is the largest supplier of blood products to hospitals across the United States. The organization was forced to close multiple blood drives as a result of severe weather and is in need of eligible donors.

Trish Mozdzierz and Debbie Allen, ERA Wilder Realty agents in Northeast Columbia, coordinated the blood drive. Mozdzierz was motivated to facilitate the event after Allen’s son, Patrick, was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. The blood drive was meant to kick start a series of benefits to help support Patrick. “Even though blood supply does not normally affect cancer patients, blood is truly the gift of life,” said Mozdzierz.

“ERA Wilder is a tight knit group, and everyone participates. When something effects one of us, it effect us all,” Mozdzierz said. ERA Wilder agents work hard to give back and stay involved in the community they serve.  Allen is planning on organizing additional blood drives in the area.
