PRLog - Feb. 5, 2014 - FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. -- —  With a desire to offer something different for her fans and new readers, author of the Hungry Ghost Series, Becky M. Pourchot will be hosting a Hungry Ghost Festival on Saturday, March 8th from 5:30pm to 8pm at Kokomo’s Café in Flagler Beach.

In honor of the release of the third book in her series, Ghost Tears, Pourchot will be recruiting local talent to create a fun festival-like atmosphere.  For a small fee photographer and award winning storyteller Mystic Mel will let fans take “photographs with ghosts” through use of green screen technology, while artist Brandi Jaeger of Spirited Spunk will be hosting a paranormal themed craft project.  Flagler Palm Coast High School senior Diana Nguyen will be giving henna tattoos and Kokomo’s café will be featuring special story-themed food on their menu.

Pourchot has adapted the concept of the hungry ghost, first found in Chinese folklore, by creating ghostly characters who seek the help of fifteen-year-old Gala Rhyce, a reluctant ghost whisperer living in Flagler Beach.  The book is targeted for midgrade to young adult readers; however fans of all ages enjoy reading the trials of the quirky main character and her ghostly companions.

“I’m really excited about Ghost Tears. Gala starts school at Flagler Palm Coast High School and gets entangled with a whole new type of ghost,” Pourchot says about her newest book which features as much humor and romance, as it does paranormal.

Pourchot adds with enthusiasm, “A year and a half ago the series was just an idea in my head.  Now, three books later I’m excited to offer an event really special to my fans.  It’s time to celebrate.”
