JOHANNESBURG - Jan. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Scooters Pizza is one of the country’s leading fast food franchises, boasting over 125 stores nationwide. Since its inception 14 years ago, the brand has been setting the bar very high for its competitors, through innovative thinking and an evolving business model to suit the times.

One thing that has not changed over the years is Scooters Pizza’s brand promise of delivery within 39 minutes or the food ordered is free! T’s & C’s apply of course. To date, this has been an assurance no other pizza franchise has been able to offer or beat.

This promise dates back to 2000 when three men who had a great love for pizza started Scooters Pizza and shaped a brand that would serve and deliver pizza hotter and faster than any of its competitors. They understood that a hot pizza is always a good pizza, and with free delivery added in, it makes for an even better pizza! The  entrepreuners also knew that to gain market share, their unique selling proposition would need to set a standard in South Africa that was unbeatable, and that they did! Scooters Pizza’s delivery promise states that if a customer’s pizza or in fact, any foods ordered from them, is not delivered in 39 minutes or less, the meal is FREE. This strategic decision was not a way of showing off or upstaging competitors, it was Scooters Pizza’s way to prove the brand’s integrity.

Jay Currie, CEO of Taste Holdings Food Division, states that although 99% of all deliveries live up to its delivery promise, the brand continues to strive towards meeting 100% of all deliveries within 39 minutes.

“Even though late deliveries only account for 1% of all transactions, the customer loyalty that we get from our brand promise is priceless.  Our loyal customers understand that extenuating circumstances such as poor weather conditions or operational challenges may on the rare occasion affect delivery, but they also appreciate that we take accountability for the delays by offering them the late meal for free. Customers can also rest assured that this cost is absorbed by the franchisee and not by the driver”

The brand promise of free delivery within 39 minutes applies to predetermined delivery areas and requires the customer to place a minimum order of R45,00 to qualify for the free delivery. The 39 minutes is calculated from the time a customers has finished placing their order until the driver gets to the first point of entry i.e. reception desk or complex security gate.

Customers can also expect to receive an SMS once their order has been placed so that they can calculate their order’s anticipated time of arrival. If the order consists of 10 or more baked products, the customer then, unfortunately, does not qualify for the 39 minutes delivery promise due to longer preparation and cooking times. All meals are transported in heated delivery bags, a Scooters Pizza invention, to ensure the hottest and tastiest pizza in town.

“Hot pizza is our passion and we will do our utmost to make and deliver food that will not only satisfy hungry appetites but will keep our customers coming back for more. By upholding the highest service and product standards, we will continue to grow our market share to become the first choice pizza delivery chain in the areas we trade in,” concludes Currie.
