Melissa Moreno Appointed Human Resources Generalist at Cavignac & Associates

SAN DIEGO - Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Melissa Moreno, PHR-CA, has been appointed human resources generalist at Cavignac & Associates, announced Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, RPLU, CRIS, MLIS, principal and founder of the San Diego-based commercial insurance brokerage firm.

Working under the direction of Cavignac & Associates’ director of human resources, Sandee Rugg, SPHR-CA, Moreno will be charged with providing guidance and advice on employee relations issues and implementing day-to-day department operations such as hiring, assignment, training, evaluation, coaching and counseling, discipline and termination, salary and bonus administration, and managing employee records.  She also will be involved with the oversight and implementation of internal office procedures and workflows.

Moreno previously served as senior human resources generalist for Emerald Connect, a San Diego-based company that develops marketing programs for the financial services industry, where she was employed for three years.  Previous experience includes having served three years as a human resources assistant for MF Global, a leading cash and derivatives broker/dealer in Chicago.

Moreno received her Bachelor of Arts degree in human resources management from North Central College in Naperville, Ill.  She subsequently earned her PHR-CA designation and has been an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Born and raised in San Diego, Moreno currently resides in Pacific Beach with her husband, Mario.  She enjoys surfing, hiking and camping.
