Port Inn Portsmouth joins Ascend Collection Hotels

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Ascend Collection Hotel Coming to Portsmouth

The Port Inn, Portsmouth’s oldest and longest operating hotel, has been selected to be a member of Choice Hotel’s Ascend Collection of Historic, Boutique, and Unique Hotels. The Ascend Collection seeks out high-quality hotels and inns that offer a strong connection with the local culture and community. Ascend Collection hotels enhance the guest experience through very personal service and a strong connection with the local culture, attractions and events.

Although the Port Inn was built in the mid 1950’s and expanded in the early 1960’s, the property has been continually renovated and updated to stay fresh and relevant. James Bouzianis owner of the property noted that “Along with our traditional customer base, we noticed a younger, affluent customer very much interested in Portsmouth culture, nightlife, and restaurants. In order to remain relevant to that audience, we needed to represent a more hip and unique experience for them- an experience that very much immerses our guests in the local culture.” Along with the new affiliation, Port Inn is currently completing the renovation and expansion of its lobby and breakfast space, and has completely renovated half of its rooms. The remaining guestrooms will be completed by the end of 2014.

The Port Inn has been able to keep its offerings fresh by being an early adopter of technology and current interior design. Port Inn was among the first properties in Portsmouth to offer high speed internet access in its guestrooms, flat panel, high-definition TV’s, and is currently adding i-homes to all guestrooms.
