Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, Wash. – Established eight years ago in an effort to unite female snowboarders of all ages around the world, the K2 Snowboarding (http://k2snowboarding.com/)Women’s Alliance (https://www.facebook.com/K2Alliance) is a band of lady shredders and ambassadors of the sport that build camaraderie and good times on and off the hill.

From a crew of young, enthusiastic, ripping shop girls to seasoned veterans like K2 athletes Gretchen Bleiler and Leanne Pelosi, this diverse group of women works closely with K2’s in-house design, marketing, and engineering teams to provide feedback for future K2 graphics and product performance. This year marks the revitalized rebirth of the Alliance with more emphasis being focused on events, outings, clinics, trips, and more.

“The Women’s Alliance is a vital tool for the design and development of K2’s women’s product and a super unique way for riders to develop their skills while sharing experiences and connecting with other like-minded athletes,” said Hunter Waldron, Global Brand Director at K2 Snowboarding. “We are stoked to revive the Alliance for 2014 to offer women this type of community and opportunity to provide feedback in helping design the best women’s snowboard gear.”

In conjunction with the Women’s Alliance, K2 Sports (http://www.k2sports.com/) annually donates a large sum of funds to the Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF). To date, K2 has donated more than $1M. In addition, K2 supports many other breast cancer research efforts throughout the year, and recognizes the cause by placing a pink ribbon on nearly all snowboards (and skis) in the K2 Women’s Collection.
