Professional Development Resources (https://www.pdresources.org/ Continuing Education Requirements Occupational therapists licensed in the state of Georgia have a license renewal every two years with a deadline of March 31st, even years. Twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license. Out of the twenty-hour hours, 14 hours must be in direct patient care, and 8 hours are allowed from home study if AOTA approved. There are two hours of ethics in occupational therapy required at each renewal.
