CheapFlicksTV is different from the multitude of channels on Roku because it streams only the finest in original movies and series. All of the network’s content is provided by independent film producers who themselves receive a share of the revenue proceeds.
“For the longest time, Roku users have been asking for a channel which provides them with original features and series that they cannot find anywhere else, for an inexpensive fee,” said Natasha Niemi, one of the four operating partners of CheapFlicksTV, “and this is a service we are happy to provide by filling our channels with unique movies and series which may lack the big budget but still manage to tell the biggest and best stories.”
With over five million Roku devices in homes across the world, there is a definite need for online channels. One way in which CheapFlicksTV plans to distance itself from its competition is through its unique Filmmaker’s Corner. This interactive area of the network is one in which the audience can get to know filmmakers personally. For producers, writers, and directors, this corner is a dream venue where they can receive maximum exposure from their target audience.
Founding partner Bobby Peoples views the network as an entertainment connection point. According to him, in the near future, “CheapFlicksTV will be the hub between filmmakers and audiences, connecting audiences with movie makers and giving filmmakers a much-needed platform on which to compete in the marketplace and produce more films and gain more fans.”
Currently CheapFlicksTV is seeking original programming for its line-up. Independent filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films and series for network consideration. All agreements are nonexclusive and allow the owners to retain full ownership of their works.
