Follow on Google News | “Global Fusion” Show Offers International Art Tour at The Arts MillOpening reception Jan. 31 kicks off five-week run of internationally-themed, multi-format show at Grafton, Wis., gallery
By: The Arts Mill “Global Fusion: An International Selection of Fine Art” will spotlight varied art forms that explore diverse cultural perspectives and shared human experiences. The show, running through March 8, will include art from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Highlighted artists are Andrew J. Andropolis, Minnie Bhupathi, Adrian Spinks and Gul Niazi. Works by regional artists will also be displayed. A free opening reception Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. will feature dance performances by Bollywood Hollywood. Its members will perform a medley of Bollywood songs with global influences consisting of Indian classical, Middle Eastern and reggae beats. The reception, open to the public, will have international wines and Greek food for purchase. Many displayed art pieces will be for sale. The Arts Mill, located in the historic Grafton Mill, houses more than a dozen artists’ studios and a boutique of unique items from local and regional artists. Known as “Jack” to many, his art crossed over into multiple mediums, from paintings to sculptures to jewelry. A former art teacher at Southern Door High School, his skill, passion and creativity was displayed in numerous galleries as contemporary art, contemporary abstract art and modern art. Andropolis was one of Door County’s longest living, continual resident artists. His work, influenced by Picasso, Degas, Renoir and Pollock, spanned more than 50 years of creation. During this time, Jack and his wife, Ann, raised four sons and operated both a resort and restaurant.
