Hazleton PA Carpet Cleaning Company Employees Attend Safety Committee Certification

POCONOS, Pa. - Jan. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- (Hazleton PA) –  three employees from Services Etcetera Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning of Hazleton recently attended Workplace Safety Committee Certification Training offered through PATHS.   PATHS is a no-fee, statewide service established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Bureau of Workers' Compensation's Health and Safety Division to provide employers and employees with easy access to cost-effective health and safety resources.   The training session which was held on January 23, 2014 covered topics involving safety committee dynamics, hazard identification, accident investigation and substance abuse, awareness and prevention.

Among the attendees were the company’s owner, Kimberly A. Martin, manager Robert G. Martin and Alexander R. According to estimates from “The National Safety Council”, for every $1 of direct costs spent on a lost time injury, between $4 and $8 is spent on indirect costs such as lost or spoiled production, damaged equipment, worker retraining and accident investigation.

Class instructor Ms. Mary Rose Turnpaugh holds an Advanced Safety Certificate from the National Safety Council’s Safety Training Institute.   Founded in 1913 and chartered by Congress, the National Safety Council is committed to helping its members and the public prevent unintentional injuries and deaths by providing knowledge and resources that enable them to reduce risks, engage employees, measure progress and continuously improve their safety management systems.
