Gleason, fed up from the lack of sleep, and not being included in important discussions about her health, maturely shared via video that she wants to have dialogues with all of her providers, and she wants to be engaged in her health, but waking her up at 6 am is not the best way to get those conversations started. Additionally, she shared how frustrating it is to be excluded from conversations about her body, and her health, as providers pull her parents into the hall to talk.
“We hear, over and over again, how much more confident our members feel at the point of care,” said Courtney Larned, VP of Marketing at CareSync. “Having access to your medical information, discovering what’s in your records, and then leveraging that health story to receive better care is why we exist. Information equals power. Empowerment leads to increased engagement. This engagement leads to better outcomes. We all are cheering ‘Go Morgan!’ for emphasizing what you need from your doctors to be a better patient.”
Gleason’s video was written about on the Forbes’ blog, and currently has almost 8,000 views on YouTube.
