NORWELL, Mass. - Jan. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- The Cancer Support Community-MA South Shore is showcasing a compilation of artwork by four South Shore artists in its exhibition “Tranquility” at 120 Longwater Drive, Suite 104, Assinippi Park in Norwell MA through March 31st.

The display features pastel, watercolor, and impressionist paintings that represent nature and serenity. Marshfield artists Betty Rogers and Donna Rossetti-Bailey and Duxbury artists Susan Benoit and Gayle Loik have teamed up for a very special art exhibit that is open to those affected by cancer  and those interested in local art.

The public is invited to view the paintings Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 pm at the Cancer Support Community of MA South Shore throughout the showing.

Each of the four artists has donated an original piece of artwork, including two painting that will be raffled on March 31st, with all proceeds to benefit the Cancer Support Community Massachusetts South Shore. In addition, a generous portion of the art sales will also be donated to CSC-MSS. For more information visit www.cancersupportcommunityma.org  or call 781-610-1490.

Donna Rossetti Bailey has been a teacher for her entire career, both at Rockland High School & later at local art associations where the artists met.  She is an accomplished artist, pastels being her medium of choice.  Betty Rogers excels at watercolor, having many awards to her credit, including the prestigious New England Watercolor Society Signature Artist member status.  Gayle Loik began her career in commercial art and has become a painter with skills and awards in pastels, watercolor and acrylics.  Susan Benoit's degrees in Fine Art morphed into a career in interior design until moving back East where she rediscovered the world of art & artists: the women who became her friends...now part of this exhibit.  Her media include pastels, oils & acrylics. The highlight of this exhibit is a return to painting for Susan, who is in remission from ovarian cancer.

“We are honored to have these talented artists share their talents and their work with us,” said Megan Bettencourt, Executive Director of CSC-MA SS. “Our staff and all of our participants and guests will enjoy the beautiful work. We thank Betty, Susan, Donna and Gayle for their generosity, as the proceeds will help us continue to provide programs for individuals and families across the South Shore.”
