LOS ANGELES - Jan. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Foundation For Second Chances (FFSC) will host its 4th Annual Leadership Awards brunch on Saturday February 15, 2014 to recognize extraordinary individuals whose contributions are vital to the community and FFSC’s success. FFSC utilizes hands-on education, mentoring, health awareness and community service to maximize the potential of our youth. This year’s honorees include Anika Jackson (Inspirational Award), Tammy Tumbling (Community Leader Award), Omar McGee (Educational Leader Award), Graciela Meibar (Business Leader Award) and Alicia Easter (FFSC Volunteer of the Year). The red carpet soiree takes place on the beautiful grounds of  the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens located at 570 W. Avenue 26, Los Angeles, CA 90065 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The diamonds and denim event also serves as a fundraiser for FFSC’s educational and outreach programs to ensure the continuation of their mission.

Inspirational honoree Anika Jackson is a native of Lawrence, Kansas, Anika is a member of the Junior League of Houston and serves as development chair for the board of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast. Ms. Jackson currently manages the Jackson Family Charity and is founder of the Shaisiri Foundation, focused on women’s maternal health, human trafficking, and education.

Community Leader honoree Tammy Tumbling joined Southern California Edison in 1998 and currently holds the position of Director of Philanthropy & Community Involvement for SCE, a subsidiary of Edison International, and oversees the company's corporate giving efforts. Her responsibilities include managing the company's $16.6 million philanthropic budget and providing strategic direction on funding programs. McGee dreamt of becoming a film director but the lure of Hollywood and the monetary success he attained in real estate were not enough for him. He eventually abandoned his aspirations of becoming a Hollywood film director to follow his heart, and return to his original goal of empowering youth whose backgrounds mirrored his own.

Business Leader honoree Graciela G. Meibar is a Cuba native and holds a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. Hosted by comedian Tiffany Haddish (The Arsenio Hall Show, Real Husbands of Hollywood), this annual event will attract over 200 tastemakers, community leaders and celebrities into a relaxed garden setting with live music by PLUSH, brunch, cocktails and educational notes on the important work the FFSC does with our youth.
