In the positives, the president signed off on the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act, which is intended to reduce sexual assault and other under-reported crimes in the military, and he also maintained his position on marriage equality. Of course, like all presidential terms, this year did not come without its various hiccups--the NSA scandal with Edward Snowden, the ineffective Affordable Health Care Act roll out, and the general disorder of our national debt.
