DSM’s hiring comes on the heels of the Federal Aviation Administration’
s (FAA) October ruling that “airlines can safely expand passenger use of Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) during all phases of flight. DSM’s initial efforts will include promoting the attributes of SmartTray’s three different aircraft tray designs - each supporting the use of PEDs, while providing safe, gate-to-gate storage and use of travelers’ own tablet devices and/or those provided by an airline.
