nProtect warns downloading of adware can lead to online fraud incidents

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Jan. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- San Jose, California—nProtect, Inc., a global leader in Internet security solutions, announces malware spread by adware spawned a number of cybercrimes such as memory hacking and pharming used in online financial fraud incidents. Moreover, the operating server and module of adware were exploited by cyber criminals to spread such malware.

By modifying the operating server and module of adware, cyber criminals spread such malwares by inserting the malwares in ads to be spread by automatic update procedures. nProtect Research Lab announced that recently reported malware contained a code that collected login information of online banking users as well as online game users. Cyber criminals often attacked servers of adware companies or modified the files to spread the malwares.

In order to prevent such attacks, nProtect Research Lab recommends users not download adware from unofficial websites such as blogs where malware is often inserted in applications.
