GLASTONBURY, Conn. - Jan. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Wayne Cobleigh,CPSM Manager of Project Development for GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc., has been appointed to  the Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC) Board of Directors for a three year term.

CTGBC is the Connecticut Chapter of US Green Building Council which GZA has been a corporate member of since 2008.

Cobleigh maintains client relations for GZA within the real estate, energy water resources, infrastructure and buildings practice areas. At GZA, he builds multi-firm project teams and develops strategic alliances with architects, engineers, attorneys, regulators, construction professionals and other consultants in the design, renovation and construction of buildings and infrastructure. He has over 30 years of project management, marketing and business development experience in the environmental services industry in Connecticut. He advises private and public sector clients on a wide variety of environmental compliance matters and real estate development issues. He has represented GZA at several brownfield redevelopment and sustainable development forums and has prepared testimony at public hearings regarding land developments and community outreach efforts involving environmental assessment and remediation issues.

“My emphasis with CTGBC in the year ahead will be implementing the new chapter organization structure to improve communications and operations by connecting and collaborating with our volunteer leaders, members and future members to build on the momentum we gained in 2013,” said Cobleigh. “In 2014, I will be advocating for community resiliency and evaluating how innovative finance programs like C-PACE may be adapted for  renovation and new construction of more resilient buildings in communities vulnerable to riverine or coastal flooding and sea level rise.

A resident of Simsbury, Cobleigh has a B.A. degree in Environmental Science and Biology from Colby College and received his M.B.A. in Marketing with University of Phoenix Online in 2008 with honors. He joined GZA in 2001 and also volunteers in the following business associations: Past President, Society for Marketing Professional Services Connecticut Chapter, Connecticut Business and Industry, Environmental Policies Council, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Past State Director, Government Relations Committee in Connecticut, Past ICSC Alliance Program Private Sector Co-Chair.
