A Certified Pre-Owned Toyota is a vehicle that has gone through an extensive reconditioning process by the automaker. Before the vehicle can go on sale, it must be up to the same factory code as when it first left. In addition, these models come with further benefits like a vehicle history report and a warranty.
The winning car was determined to be a 2010 Toyota Matrix hatchback. It was purchased at Dunning Toyota in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Jose Ortiz. At the time, Ortiz was unaware he was the owner of the four millionth Certified Pre-Owned Toyota and the part he played in automotive history.
Recently, Toyota group vice president Bill Fay approached Jose Ortiz with the news. To thank him for allowing Toyota to achieve the milestone, Fay presented Ortiz with a check for the amount Ortiz paid for the Toyota Matrix. There was a formal ceremony at Dunning Toyota in Ann Arbor.
During the ceremony for the four millionth CPO used vehicle, Toyota also acknowledged the dealership by presenting a check for the same value as the 2010 Toyota Matrix. The check is to be donated to Alpha House Interfaith Hospitality Network, a non-profit organization the dealership has supported many times in the past.
Interfaith Hospitality Network is a non-profit group that provides emergency support and housing for families and young children who are going through a period of homelessness. With the help of the group, these individuals are able to stay housed in a secure environment and get connected to other areas of assistance in the community.
