Meet our Mentor: Kerrie Dorman, AFM (IIC&M)

CANTERBURY, U.K. - Jan. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Kerrie Dorman is an Accredited Fellow Mentor with the IIC&M and has been a mentor for over 7 years.

Kerrie came to mentoring from first-hand experience running businesses that were successful and some that were less successful; she really has been there and done it herself! Kerrie is a genuine entrepreneur who has grown and successfully sold a number of SME businesses in a variety of Industries; recruitment, bar and restaurant, beauty, retail and gift products.

She started the first of her six businesses at the age of 20, and has a wealth of real-world experience, both in Australia and the UK employing up to 25 at any one time.  As a result of her extensive knowledge Kerrie is able to recognise core business flaws and can implement strategies to rectify them and stimulate success. In fact, Kerrie was invited to become a mentor at the London Innovation Centre post the sale of her last business.  She immediately fell in love with the process having never had a mentor of her own and loved the satisfaction of making a positive impact and saving a business time and money.  As Kerrie says, “If you don’t know the solution, refer to someone who does. Never profess to know all the answers”

She describes her style as having ’no fluff’, Kerrie says “I don’t mess around and certainly don’t waste anyone’s time. My aim is to spot fundamental flaws and implement strategies to rectify them”.   Kerrie provides “one:one” coaching and mentoring and also shadow mentoring which includes working with organisational management teams.  She works with a whole range of business clients; indeed any business that has a feasible model can benefit from Kerrie’s expertise.  Her mentoring mantra is “Crack on! Keep it short, sharp and to the point” and clients’ work with her because she gets them the results they need.   Kerrie believes it is truly an art to be able to wrap up experience and utilise it to guide and support someone else.

Kerrie has been an IIC&M Accredited Mentor since late 2013 and selected the IIC&M to give credibility to her offer.  She has recently worked with the organisation to get the ABM training courses through the accreditation process and describes the experience as incredibly satisfying and is very much looking forward to the launch of the courses in February.
